PEARL CARE
Daily care: Since pearls are organic gemstones, they are vulnerable to acid, alkaline and humidity. The key to your pearl care regime is to avoid introducing cosmetics and perfume before wearing them. Additionally, wipe the pearls before putting them away, to reduce exposure to perspiration. A good thumb rule to remember is that “Pearls should be the last thing to put on & the first thing to take off.
Maintenance: Since pearls are delicate, especially when made into jewellery, it’s a good idea to check all the components of the piece regularly– get your pearls restrung every year as a general rule.
Cleaning: Besides the upkeep that you are carefully abiding by, if the radiance of your pearls seems to be diminishing, make sure to get them cleaned by a specialist.
Storage: While pearls are pretty resistant to scratches, it’s still a good idea to keep them in a separate jewellery pouch amongst other jewellery and gems. Keep in mind, “pearls love to be worn,” and keeping them in storage for too long can dehydrate them. So flaunt them generously!
